We were honored to provide the decor for the Hangers Gala at St. Mary’s Manor last month. Hangers, formerly known as the EVSC PTA Clothing Bank, helps to clothe thousands of students in the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation.
Hangers volunteers help students shop in their department-store like setting for everything from the basics of socks and underwear, to school clothes, to winter gear, to prom dresses. As of November 5, Hangers has served 2190 students so far this school year.
The night was filled with fun with a performance from a local band, a live and silent auction, and an inspirational speech from an EVSC graduate.
Tables were dressed with our gold and white mini chevron runners on black table cloths. Wood trays were filled with candles, gold and white pumpkins, and flowers in our vintage brass containers. Gold hangers were made for the event and seen on each table as well as other places around the room.
Flower arrangements were simple but elegant, made with white standard and spray roses. A mix of greenery included pittosporum, seeded eucalyptus, and tree fern.
Vases with tall sticks tied with gold and white chevron sashes also adorned some tables.
Most importantly, the gala raised $26,000 for a worthy organization.
The quote here holds so much truth. “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” -Margaret Mead
