Evansville Event Florist and Flower Farm

Transitioning from Fall to Holiday

November 21, 2015 by Whitney Muncy

Bridal Show #4 (1 of 1)Bauer’s Tents & Party Rentals asked us to provide flowers for their booth at the Contemporary Bridal Expo earlier this month.  We were happy to do so!  They wanted to highlight some of their new silver and red linens.  So, how do you pull silver and red together for an event on November 1st?

Bridal Show #2 (1 of 1)

We knew there would be two long, head tables with a sweetheart table in the middle.  There would be two high bistro tables at the booth, too.  How could we incorporate fall into a red and silver theme without making it seem Christmas-y?

Bridal Show #7 (1 of 1)

This arrangement was placed on one of the bistro tables as an inexpensive inspiration.  Foliage is beautiful!  The key is to use contrast of leaf shape, size, color, and texture.  Here we used magnolia, silver dollar eucalyptus, and safari sunset.  Bridal Show #3 (1 of 1)

We mixed the same foliage with red standard and spray roses, red hypericum berries, and alstromeria lilies for our head table arrangements, seen in the mock-up here.  Cylinder and square vases pulled the design across the table.  All of these empty vases would eventually be filled with candles.

Bridal Show #6 (1 of 1)

This bouquet sat on the other bistro table.  It is made with standard and spray roses, coxcomb, hypericum berries, alstromeria lilies, safari sunset, silver dollar eucalyptus, plumosa fern, birch branches, and tied with silver ribbon.

So, how did everything look at the bridal show?

Bridal Show #12 (1 of 1)

We love candles.  They bring sparkle and ambiance and are an affordable decor option.  Some venues do not allow open flames, but we have LED candles available to rent.

Bridal Show #14 (1 of 1)

The tall sweetheart table arrangement uses the same flowers and foliage as seen on the tables with the addition of ruscus, holly, and viburnum branches.  This brings in the very popular natural, foraged look.
